First Descendant 1.3.26 Patch Notes: Onslaught Fix (April 2026)
Nexon just dropped The First Descendant Patch 1.3.26 — a small but surgical follow-up to last week's Onslaught Mode beta. Matchmaking is fixed, Keelan's synchronization value is adjusted, and the promised Ancestors Module inventory expansion finally arrives. Here's what changed, what's still coming on May 21, and why PS5 players hit a delay today.

Nexon just pushed The First Descendant Patch 1.3.26 live today, April 23, 2026, at 02:10 PDT across Steam, Xbox, and PS5. This is a focused follow-up to last week's Onslaught Mode Beta launch rather than a content-heavy release — but it targets exactly the pain points the community has been shouting about for a week.
If you've been holding off on jumping back into Onslaught because of broken matchmaking, or if you've been hitting the Ancestors Module inventory cap while farming the new loot tables, this is the patch that addresses both.

The Onslaught Mode Matchmaking Fix (The Real Headline)
This is the change most players will feel immediately. Since Onslaught Mode Beta launched on April 16, the single loudest complaint across Steam forums and subreddits has been matchmaking routinely filling only three of four slots, even in the higher-difficulty tiers where a full squad genuinely matters.
Players running Onslaught Level 3 were reporting five or six attempts in a row capping at three teammates, which combined with the mode's aggressive enemy health scaling made clears borderline impossible for non-premade groups.
Patch 1.3.26 explicitly addresses this: matchmaking has been improved to make it easier to form a 4-player squad for Onslaught Mode. If you were skipping higher tiers because of fill issues, today's the day to try them again.
Why This Fix Is More Important Than It Sounds
Onslaught scales enemy density and boss aggression with squad size. A four-player team doesn't just mean more DPS — it means the intended difficulty curve actually works. A three-player fill on Level 3 was effectively a hidden hard mode, and not in a fair way. The reward tables were tuned for four.
Keelan's Synchronization Adjustment — 1.18 to 1.38
Patch 1.3.26 adjusts Keelan's Synchronization Value from 1.18 to 1.38. This is the only Descendant balance change in today's notes.
What synchronization value actually means: in The First Descendant, each Descendant has a synchronization multiplier that directly affects how their stat scaling interacts with enemy stat scaling in scaled content. Changes to this number meaningfully shift how a Descendant performs in endgame content — sometimes dramatically.
Before you assume this is a straight buff or nerf, test your Keelan build in a mid-tier Onslaught run first. The community is still quantifying the practical impact of the change in actual content. If you've been running Keelan as a main, expect your numbers to shift — and potentially your optimal module loadout too.
Ancestors Module Inventory Expansion Finally Lands
This is the quieter but arguably more important change. In the 1.3.25 patch notes from April 16, Nexon wrote:
"As opportunities to obtain Ancestors Modules expand, we are preparing to increase the maximum number of Ancestors Modules that can be held in inventory. Such preparations are currently under technical review, with the goal of implementing the Ancestors Module inventory expansion in Patch 1.3.26."
With 1.3.26 now live, that expansion has been implemented. This directly supports the Onslaught Mode loot flow, where you can earn 1 Ancestors Module Loot III per stage final wave, up to 4 per week as Today's Bonus, on top of the 10% drop rate during Axion Plains Infiltration Operation: Hard.
Combined with the active Dismantle Ancestors Module Week (running through May 20), this patch makes the full Ancestors Module loop significantly less painful for high-Mastery players who were constantly dismantling or deleting to make space.

PS5 Patch Delay on Launch Day
A note for PlayStation players: Nexon flagged a patch issue on PS5 earlier this morning. The official status update from 01:10 PDT read:
"We have identified an issue with the PS platform becoming inaccessible during the patch process, causing a delay. We will provide an update through the patch notes as soon as the issue is resolved."
If you're on PS5 and the update isn't showing, that's why. Check Nexon's official news page for the all-clear before troubleshooting on your end. Steam and Xbox rolled out on schedule.
What's Still Running From the April Event Cycle
Patch 1.3.26 doesn't add new events, but several high-value ones from the April 16 update are still active and worth hitting today:
| Event | Runs Until |
|---|---|
| Esiemo's Onslaught Preparation Mission | April 28, 2026 |
| Onslaught Mode (Beta) Survey Event | April 28, 2026 |
| Twitch Drops (Onslaught Beta) | April 29, 2026 |
| Dismantle Ancestors Module Week | May 20, 2026 |
| Accelerate Research Week | May 20, 2026 |
| Premium Cleaning Service Request II (login event) | May 27, 2026 |
Priority recommendations for the week:
- Submit the Onslaught Beta survey. The feedback window closes April 28, and Nexon has explicitly committed to applying player feedback before the full launch. The survey button activates after clearing Stage 1 once
- Dismantle your stockpiled Ancestors Modules into Fragments and spend them at the BB-On shop — this is a genuinely efficient path to targeted module acquisition ahead of Episode 4
- Claim daily from Premium Cleaning Service Request II — the login event grants the Viessa's Cleaning Service Box and a steady flow of growth materials
Looking Ahead: Full Onslaught Launch on May 21
The Onslaught Mode Beta window closes April 29, and the mode's official launch — with whatever adjustments Nexon applies based on survey feedback — arrives May 21, 2026, alongside the Season 3 Episode 4 update.
Based on the April developer livestream, Episode 4 will also include:
- New Hair Dyes supporting two-or-more-color combinations
- Additional progression and endgame content (a separate Trial Mode was mentioned)
- A broader farming loop overhaul to reduce repetitive grinding
- Continued Descendant balance work (Harris's improvements from 1.3.25 are also still bedding in)
If Patch 1.3.26 is the polish pass, Episode 4 is the real next chapter.
Should You Jump Back In Today?
Yes, if:
- You were frustrated by Onslaught matchmaking failures last week
- You've been sitting on a packed Ancestors Module inventory
- You main Keelan and want to retest your build post-adjustment
- You haven't submitted the Onslaught Beta survey yet (rewards expire April 28)
Hold off if:
- You're on PS5 and the patch is still rolling out in your region
- You're waiting for Episode 4 content rather than Beta-stage tuning
For active Descendants, this is a genuine quality-of-life improvement disguised as a minor patch number. The matchmaking fix alone meaningfully changes whether Onslaught Level 3 is worth running outside of a premade group.
Servers are live on Steam and Xbox. PS5 players — keep an eye on the official status feed.
