Season 7.5's marquee content is finally live. Marvel Rivals patch 20260423 rolled out today, April 23, 2026, at 09:00 UTC — no server downtime, just patch and play. It brings two of the biggest additions the game has seen all year: the new Blood Hunt PvE mode and the return of the Hellfire Gala with a free skin up for grabs.
If you only have an hour to play today, here's the prioritized version — and the full breakdown underneath.

Patch 20260423 at a Glance
- Blood Hunt PvE mode goes live: 1–4 player co-op, four bosses, vampires everywhere
- Hellfire Gala 2026 event begins: free Emma Frost skin, plus Phoenix and Moon Knight costumes
- No server downtime — the update is live-applied
- Cloak & Dagger Ultimate bug finally fixed
- Path to Doomsday Phase 1 drops next week (April 30)
Blood Hunt: Dracula, Kingpin, and a Full PvE Rework
This is the headline feature, and it's a clear successor to last year's Marvel Rivals Zombies mode — only bigger.
The Setup
The breakout at The Vault accidentally freed Dracula, and vampires are swarming New York City. Your squad's job is to push through the hordes, clear four boss encounters, and shut the invasion down.
A critical tactical note: Dracula is not the final boss. Kingpin is the closer. On higher difficulty tiers, save your cooldowns and Ultimates for the back half of the run — burning everything on Dracula will get you wiped in the final room.
Key Details
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Available From | April 23, 2026, 09:00 UTC |
| Available Until | July 30, 2026, 09:00 UTC |
| Players | 1–4 (solo-friendly, scales with squad size) |
| Bosses | 4 total, including Dracula and Kingpin |
| Playable Heroes | 6 at launch (Magik from Zombie Mode is not returning) |
| Duplicates Allowed | Yes — four of the same hero in one squad is legal |
| Progression | Hero traits persist across runs; new PvE loot system |
How to Start Blood Hunt (Step-by-Step)
- Update to the Season 7.5 patch. The season itself went live April 17; today's update adds Blood Hunt on top
- Open the Game Mode menu and select Blood Hunt from Event Game Modes
- Pick a difficulty tier that matches your squad size and comfort. Higher tiers scale enemy counts and boss aggression for better rewards
- Choose your hero. Each one's kit has been reworked for PvE combat
- Clear runs to unlock trait upgrades, artifacts, and cosmetics — traits carry over, so early clears make later tiers easier
Should You Play Solo or Grouped?
Solo is viable, but the mode genuinely scales better with a duo or trio. Four players unlocks the highest difficulty tiers with meaningful reward bumps. If you're pug-queuing, stay flexible on role — the duplicates-allowed rule means your random teammates might already be locked into something specific.

Hellfire Gala 2026: Every Skin and Reward
The Gala is back, and this year it's structured around a free headline skin plus a rotating paid lineup.
Dates to Lock In
- Starts: April 23, 2026, 09:00 UTC
- Ends: May 28, 2026, 09:00 UTC
That's a five-week window. Free rewards are not retroactive — miss the window, miss the skin.
The Free Skin: Emma Frost's Gala Glam
This is the big one. Emma Frost's Gala Glam costume won the 2025 community vote and is finally releasing. You unlock it for free by completing the Gala mission chain during the event window. No purchase required, no premium battle pass locked behind it.
The Paid Skins
Also launching alongside the Gala:
- Phoenix — Verdant Vogue costume
- Moon Knight — Suave Spector costume (includes unique Ultimate Ability VFX)
- Netherworld Noble Emoji Bundle
Gala-themed cosmetics are also rolling out for Magik and Gambit as part of the broader event lineup.
How to Unlock Emma Frost Gala Glam Fast
- Log in anytime between April 23 and May 28. The mission chain becomes available when the event opens
- Complete Gala missions as they unlock. Most are play-the-game objectives (win matches, use specific heroes, play the event mode) rather than paywall-gated
- Vote in the 2026 community vote. Takes roughly thirty seconds. Your choice determines next year's free Gala skin — worth doing even if you don't care about the vote itself, because the winner becomes a free skin for everyone in 2027
Bug Fixes and Balance
The patch is relatively light on balance changes — Season 7.5 did most of that work a week ago — but one fix stands out:
- Cloak & Dagger's Darkforce Disconnect: Fixed a rare issue where poor network conditions could cause Tandy and Tyrone's Ultimate Ability dash to get permanently stuck in place. If you've been dropping Cloak & Dagger from your comp because of this, they're back on the menu.
What's Coming Next: Path to Doomsday
The April 23 drop is only half of Season 7.5's content plan. April 30 launches Phase 1 of the Path to Doomsday roadmap, including:
- A new asymmetrical game mode pitting Loki against a team of Avengers, thematically tied to the original 2012 Avengers film
- Times Square as a playable location with new in-game activities
- On PC, the High-Resolution Texture Pack has been separated into optional DLC — you can remove it to free up approximately 35 GB of storage if you're running tight on disk space
If Blood Hunt is the co-op pivot, Path to Doomsday is the experimental-mode pivot. Between the two, NetEase is clearly widening what Marvel Rivals is beyond its core 6v6 hero shooter roots.
Is Now a Good Time to Jump In?
If you've never played Marvel Rivals, today is genuinely one of the best entry points the game has had:
- It's free-to-play. No purchase required on PS5, Xbox, or PC
- Season 7.5 added Black Cat as a new Duelist, so the roster is fresh
- Blood Hunt is more approachable than ranked PvP — fighting AI vampires is a much softer learning curve than six-stacking in competitive
- The free Emma Frost skin is a proper incentive to log in daily for the next five weeks
If you're already a returning player: download the patch, run a Blood Hunt clear for trait unlocks, knock out the Gala intro missions, and you're set for the weekend.
