Best Budget Gaming PC Build April 2026 — Real Prices, Smart Alternatives, $850 Total

6 min read
PrimvoSite

GPU and RAM prices exploded in April 2026. This build skips the overpriced parts and finds the smart alternatives — a complete gaming PC for around $850 that runs every major 2026 title at 1080p high settings. Every price verified today.

PC part prices in April 2026 are not normal.

The RX 7600 XT now costs $499. DDR5 kits that cost $45 six months ago are listing at $250. The Samsung 870 EVO has tripled in price.

Building a budget gaming PC right now means ignoring the parts that got hit hardest and finding the alternatives that still make sense.

This guide does exactly that. Every part below is chosen specifically because it dodges the worst of the 2026 price crisis while still delivering genuine 1080p gaming performance.

The Revised $850 Build — April 2026 Real Prices

ComponentPartPrice
CPUAMD Ryzen 5 7600$216
GPUIntel Arc B580 12GB$250
MotherboardMSI PRO B650M-A$160
RAMKingston Fury Beast 16GB DDR5 5200MHz$58
StorageKingston NV3 1TB NVMe SSD$55
PSUCorsair CX650 80+ Bronze$60
CaseCorsair 4000D Airflow$94
Total$893

All prices verified April 19, 2026. Every part currently in stock with Prime shipping.

What Changed and Why

Three parts from the standard recommendation list are no longer good value in April 2026.

RX 7600 XT — now $499. Skip it. At $499, it competes with the RX 9060 XT 16GB which outperforms it significantly. The Intel Arc B580 at $250 is the correct replacement.

Corsair DDR5 — $249 at that kit. Wrong kit. The Corsair Vengeance at $249 is either the 32GB version or a high-speed 6400MHz kit. Kingston Fury Beast 16GB DDR5 5200MHz costs $58 and does exactly what this build needs.

Samsung 870 EVO — $335 is the 4TB version. The 1TB 870 EVO should be around $75-80 but stock varies wildly right now. Kingston NV3 1TB NVMe at $55 is faster, cheaper, and readily available.

CPU — AMD Ryzen 5 7600 ($216)

Nothing has changed about this recommendation except the price.

Six cores, twelve threads, 5.1GHz boost. Still the correct CPU for every gaming build under $1,000. Still includes a stock cooler. Still does not bottleneck any GPU under $350.

The $22 price increase since late 2025 is the smallest jump of any component in this list.

Buy Ryzen 5 7600 on Amazon → $216 — Includes stock cooler, no cooler needed

GPU — Intel Arc B580 12GB ($250)

The Arc B580 is the correct answer to the 2026 GPU price crisis.

While AMD and Nvidia cards jumped 30-60%, the Arc B580 has held near its launch price. At $250 it is the only card available today that delivers genuine 1080p high-settings gaming without paying the AI-driven premium.

Performance at 1080p high settings:

  • Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred: 85-100fps
  • Pragmata: 70-85fps
  • Fortnite Chapter 7: 100-130fps
  • Counter-Strike 2: 170fps+
  • Marvel Rivals: 80-95fps

12GB of VRAM is the other reason this card wins at this price point. Every competing GPU under $300 now ships with 8GB. The B580's 12GB handles high-resolution textures in current and upcoming titles without the VRAM compression artifacts seen on 8GB cards in demanding 2026 releases.

XeSS upscaling adds 10-20fps in supported titles. Diablo 4 and Fortnite both support it.

Buy Intel Arc B580 on Amazon → $250 — 12GB VRAM, best value GPU in April 2026

Motherboard — MSI PRO B650M-A ($160)

Price increased from $89 to $160 — but it remains the correct board for this build.

AM5 socket for Ryzen 7000 series. PCIe 4.0 x16 for the Arc B580. DDR5 support. Four SATA ports plus one M.2 slot for the Kingston NVMe drive.

At $160 it is still the best value B650 board available for this CPU and GPU combination.

Buy MSI PRO B650M-A on Amazon → $160 — Correct board for AM5 + DDR5

RAM — Kingston Fury Beast 16GB DDR5 5200MHz ($58)

This is the replacement for the Corsair kit.

The Corsair Vengeance listing at $249 is the 32GB or high-speed variant. The Kingston Fury Beast 16GB DDR5 5200MHz costs $58 and is the correct spec for this motherboard and CPU combination.

Performance difference between a $58 DDR5 kit and a $249 DDR5 kit in gaming: less than 2% in most titles.

Buy the $58 kit.

Buy Kingston Fury Beast 16GB DDR5 on Amazon → $258 — Same gaming performance as kits costing 4x more

Storage — Kingston NV3 1TB NVMe SSD ($55)

This replaces the Samsung 870 EVO.

The Samsung 870 EVO 1TB should cost $75-80 but the $335 listing is either the 4TB version or a third-party price-gouged listing.

The Kingston NV3 1TB NVMe is:

  • $20 cheaper than the correct Samsung price
  • Faster (NVMe vs SATA)
  • Available at consistent pricing right now

1TB covers your full library. Diablo 4 takes 90GB. Pragmata takes 60GB. Fortnite takes 90GB. Three games and you are at 240GB — 1TB gives you room for ten more.

Buy Kingston NV3 1TB on Amazon → $155 — Faster than SATA, cheaper than Samsung right now

PSU — Corsair CX650 80+ Bronze ($60)

650W covers this build at full load with 350W of clean headroom.

Ryzen 5 7600 + Arc B580 combined draw approximately 290W under gaming load. The extra headroom ensures stable operation during power spikes and future upgrades.

Corsair's CX series has a proven reliability record. The non-modular version costs $15 less than the semi-modular — worth it at this budget.

Buy Corsair CX650 on Amazon → $60 — Proven reliability, correct wattage

Case — Corsair 4000D Airflow ($94)

The Fractal Core 1000 price is currently uncertain and stock is inconsistent.

The Corsair 4000D Airflow at $94 is the correct alternative — better airflow, more fan mounts, front mesh panel that actually moves air efficiently.

Two 120mm fans included. Full-tower ATX fit with excellent cable management. The Arc B580's slightly higher thermals benefit from the 4000D's airflow design.

Buy Corsair 4000D Airflow on Amazon → $94 — Better airflow than budget alternatives

Full Price Comparison — Before and After

PartOld PriceApril 2026 PriceChange
Ryzen 5 7600$179$216+$37
GPU$239 (RX 7600 XT)$250 (Arc B580)+$11

Storage$69$55 (Kingston NVMe)-$14
PSU$55$60+$5
Case$49$94 (4000D)+$45
Total$725$893+$168

The honest reality: building a gaming PC costs $168 more today than it did six months ago. That is the 2026 component market.

The good news is this build still costs significantly less than any pre-built PC with comparable performance — most of which sell for $1,200-1,400 right now.

Should You Wait for Prices to Drop?

The honest answer is no.

GPU prices are rising because of AI VRAM demand — a trend that is accelerating, not slowing down. The Arc B580 at $250 may not stay at this price through mid-2026.

If you need a gaming PC today, building now at $893 is better than waiting six months for a market that most analysts expect to be more expensive, not less.
